All,
this is in deed great news.

I would like to take a moment and draw your attention to one aspect of this fantastic news:

While our proposal enjoyed a lot of support, some raised concerns and doubts whether our recommendations actually make ICANN sufficiently robust in a post-transition world. I am sure I am not the only one who took those concerns seriously as I was and am very much interested in delivering a work product that makes ICANN the best possible place to serve the global community. I am still convinced that our recommendations are an excellent foundation for ICANN to work on, but just take a few minutes and go through the NTIA report. You will find that our proposal has been analyzed very diligently by different agencies and experts. Now we can truly say that it was not just „us" thinking what we came up with is a good quality work product, but we got confirmation from experts not previously engaged in the process. I hope this helps to remove remaining concerns there might be that the transition could put ICANN and the operation of the IANA functions at risk.

Yes, all of you have good reason to dance, do silly walks, drink or celebrate this moment any way you want.

It was and is a pleasure to work with you! Thanks for that.

Thanks also to Larry and his team as well as the others involved in producing and contributing to the NTIA report. I am sure it was a very challenging task.

All the best
Thomas
