Legal advice you mean? the CWG is putting up some issue statements in that regard and there could be a synchronisation between the 2 WG especially for resource utilization reasons

There are already various mechanisms in the bylaws that allow groups to make such decisions.   For example the nominating committee is empowered under the bylaws to appoint Board directors.

Then the Board can be held accountable to follow its bylaws.
