Dear Bruce, As you know there are two webinars organized by CCWG. I understand that ICANN wishes to have its own calls or webinars on the same subject. I do not really understand the objectives of these ICANN calls / webinars Is a competition with CCWG webinars being organized? Does it have different objectives than those aimed at CCWG two webinars? Does the Board have a new issue to raise which have not already been raised? thus creating an environment of distrusts between the two entities I draw your attention that the public are the same . Perhaps ICANN presenters want to say different things that they already said by Thomas today. Perhaps ICANN Board wishes to have a surprise for the community? In my humble view , as an active participant at CCWG ,Thomas Ricker and other CCWG Team Teasers introductory remarks which lasts about 30 mints were quite valid, constructive, clear, positive and explanatory. It would be confusing and misleading if ICANN say something different. We need to work together and minimize the overlapping presentations, in particular seriously avoid disputing directly or indirectly what CCWG did say or prepared . I am still confused by the objectives and purposes of these calls I seriously warn ICANN Board or whoever presenting the calls to avoid creating conflicts between CCWG and ICANN. While ICANN is independent from CCWG and free to say whatever, it deems necessary to say, however, any contrary views or contradictory opinion or any new issues which has never been raised to CCWG ,apart from understanding of ICANN on how the CCWG recommendations will be applied, are totally counterproductive , and could mislead the community. The Board has been actively participated in every and all steps of the works as contained in the third CCWG proposal and thus expected to enforce the hard works which have been carried out during the last 12/ 13 months I have always supported the Board and its legitimate rights and valuable contributions so far given. However, at this late stage of the process , it would be , counterproductive, misleading ,confusing and perhaps dangerous, if new idea or new elements not previously raised be presented at these call or if the presentations cast doubt on the value, workability, effectiveness, and legality of the third CCWG proposals . I knew some Board, s member and their attitudes and standards when attending CCWG as participants and their views when talking as the Board Members We have taken all issues raised by the Board and expect productive, positive, constructive views rather than any dividing views. I hope that the distinguished Board Members will take this advice into account and contribute toward galvanizing and promoting the consensus already emerged Regards Kavouss 2015-12-02 16:52 GMT+01:00 Mathieu Weill <mathieu.weill@afnic.fr>:

I am fairly certain these are merely calls for the Board to get any needed information about our proposal and to discuss it among themselves, and to provide the opportunity and platform for the Board to prepare its input to the CCWG. I'll be quite surprised if they are something different. Greg On Wed, Dec 2, 2015 at 4:46 PM, Malcolm Hutty <malcolm@linx.net> wrote:

All, please note that our discussion with the Board will be recorded and transcribed. We will make available a link to the documentation. Please also note that we have offered on multiple occasions our willingness to discuss with any group that wishes to discuss with us. The Board has taken up that offer and we would be delighted to discuss with your respective groups, too, should you find this helpful. Best, Thomas

Hello Greg and Kavouss,
I am fairly certain these are merely calls for the Board to get any needed information about our proposal and to discuss it among themselves, and to provide the opportunity and platform for the Board to prepare its input to the CCWG.
Correct. The purpose of the calls is to reach agreement within the Board on comments to submit on the latest draft. Board members are able to read the report and attend the public webinars. The CCWG co-chairs are welcome to present a summary of the proposal to the Board and explain where Board comments have been considered in the current draft, but the primary material that will be considered in the calls is the written draft from the CCWG. Regards, Bruce Tonkin
