Proposed Change:
“The mission of The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers ("ICANN") is ... In particular, ICANN:

Dear CCWG-Accountability,
[...]
The RSSAC proposes the following bylaw change for the community’s consideration:
Existing Bylaw:
“The mission of The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers ("ICANN") is ... In particular, ICANN:
… 2. Coordinates the operation and evolution of the DNS root name server system.”
Proposed Change:
“The mission of The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers ("ICANN") is ... In particular, ICANN:
… 2. Facilitates coordination of the operation and evolution of the DNS root name server system."
The RSSAC believes this proposed bylaw change reflects ICANN’s current role with respect to root server operators and the DNS root name server system.
I would support this. It seems reasonable, accurate, and consonant with equivalent changes requested by the IAB in respect of protocols. I would anyway be inclined to be highly deferential to any reasonable request by RSSAC under this heading.
