Dear All,On behalf of my organisation, I wish to heartily express my profound congratulations to Comrade Herve on being elected as the Secretary for AFRALO for the next two years and to Dave as the regional candidate for ALAC NomCom.The election was keenly contested and the AFRALO Family have spoken very loudly on who to represent it as Secretary in the next two years. It is my prayers that your election will bring the needed improvement to the AFRALO activities and engagement. We remain committed to the growth and development of AFRALO under the current Leadership and new head of the secretariat. On a final note, the community must not overlook the apathy of members to AFRALO activities as demonstrated by a total number of 20 ALSes not voting!
That number was and is very significant to influence the outcome of any election. We need to interrogate this phenomenon going forward. What was responsible? Is it that the ALSes did not receive the notices or the details of their current representatives is not reflected on the ICANN Staff register? If this information has come to light before election, the staff and the AFRALO Leadership would have done everything possible to establish the existence of these ALSes. Abstaining is different from a no vote.To all the people that voted for me, my sincere gratitude. In a competition, there is always a winner. But this time, we are not losers but given a charge for us to do better next time. And for those who did not vote for me, I will do all possible to convince you better in the next elections to change your minds...🤗God bless you all. AFRALO forward ever, backward never.Yours in service to humanity,Pastor Peters OmoragbonExecutive President/CEONurses Across the Borders_______________________________________________
