As we move closer to 13 May, we invite you to save the date ! for the AFRALO UA Regional Day, a moment dedicated to advancing Universal Acceptance through adoption and education across the continent. AFRALO UA Day event will be organized into two main parts in one day:
PART 1: The first will highlight real adoption cases from AFRALO members, demonstrating practical progress and success toward achieving UA readiness. As part of this initiative, the ICANN Africa GSE team will collaborate with AFRALO members whose websites are built on WordPress to support them becoming UA-ready. This session will also spotlight ongoing work within the academic sector, including collaboration with the Association of African Universities and efforts to incorporate UA concepts into educational curricula.
PART 2: The second part will focus on exploring broader UA adoption efforts through collaboration with UNESCO. Discussions will address advancing UA adoption and strengthening engagement with governments and the public sector across the region, with particular emphasis on expanding awareness, capacity building, and institutional adoption. This session will also include main takeaways and discuss the way forward.
