Dear AFRALO members,

I hope this message finds you well.

At each ICANN meeting, starting with the Brussels meeting in 2010, the African community within ICANN, under the initiative of AFRALO, drafts and submits a consensus statement on a topic, particularly for the region, under discussion at ICANN. This statement is addressed to the Board of Directors and all relevant stakeholders during the joint AFRALO-AfrICANN session. Its objective is to unite the African ICANN community and voice its perspective on a current issue with strategic impact for the continent.

To enhance the efficiency and resilience of this process, I have drafted a charter outlining the Procedure for Drafting AFRALO Statements :

Version française : https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Sagi7ZP4KYf3lcdJx44Kk8XKWOY_7RvkjaXX1bzeTVc/edit?usp=sharing

This charter aims to establish a clear and transparent procedure covering the entire process, from selecting the topic to drafting, reviewing, and adopting statements, ensuring a structured and inclusive approach.

Many of our former leaders (Tijani, Seun, Fatimata, Abdeldjalil) and of course our current leaders (Hadia, Bram, Aziz, Raïhanath, Bukola) have worked on the document. I would like to thank them for their suggestions and encouragement.

Now, I would like to invite you to take a moment to review the document and share  thoughts, suggestions, or concerns you may have.

Your feedback will be instrumental in refining the document and making it more  clear, comprehensive, and aligned with our collective goals.

If possible, I would appreciate receiving your comments by April 8th.

Thank you in advance for your time and input. I truly appreciate your contributions and look forward to your valuable insights.

Best regards,
