Following the call, we have received six (6) proposals, listed below in the order of their submission:
#Topic1 : L'utilisation de l'Internet par les élèves des collèges et lycées : conséquence et perspectives by Zakaria Issa Moustapha
Démontrer les conséquences de l'utilisation des réseaux sociaux par les élèves et propositions de pistes de solution.
#Topic2 : Advancing Africa's Internet Resilience: Strengthening DNS Infrastructure and Driving Regional Standards Adoption by Samwel Kariuki
The proposed joint Afralo-African statement focuses on strengthening Africa's DNS infrastructure, promoting DNSSEC, IPv6, TLS, and IDNs, and expanding root servers and IXPs. It emphasizes capacity building for DNS operators and ISPs and fosters public-private partnerships for cybersecurity. This aligns with ICANN’s priorities in Africa, aiming to build a secure, inclusive, and resilient Internet.
#Topic3 : Soutien à la digitalisation des services publics en Afrique by Aïssatou Ndiaye
Cette proposition vise à encourager ICANN à collaborer avec les gouvernements africains pour accélérer la digitalisation des services publics. L’objectif est de faciliter l’accès des citoyens à des services essentiels (éducation, santé, administration, etc.) via des plateformes en ligne sécurisées et adaptées aux réalités locales. Cette initiative inclut le renforcement des capacités techniques, la promotion de l’inclusion numérique, et la garantie de la sécurité et de la résilience des systèmes numériques déployés. Elle contribuerait à réduire la fracture numérique et à améliorer la qualité de vie des populations africaines.
#Topic4 : Advancing African Digital Identity in the Next gTLD Round: Overcoming Barriers and Leveraging Support Opportunities by Aziz Hilali
Analyzing the challenges faced by African applicants in the first gTLD round.
Enhancing the impact of the Applicant Support Program (ASP) for African stakeholders.
Leveraging new gTLDs to celebrate and amplify Africa's cultural and linguistic diversity online.
Encouraging ICANN's support for African At-Large Structures (ALS) to actively raise awareness and promote the ASP.
#Topic5 : Enhancing Cybersecurity Resilience in African Internet Infrastructure by SETH ADJEI GYIMAH
As the digital landscape in Africa continues to grow, so do the threats to its internet infrastructure. This session will focus on strategies to enhance cybersecurity resilience across the continent. We will discuss best practices, share success stories, and explore collaborative efforts to mitigate cyber threats.
#Topic6 : DNS Blockchain a threat or opportunity for Africa by Chokri ben Romdhane
The DNS on Blockchain could be a considerable evolution of the DNS in our region; it would bring several advantages and new functionalities thanks to the Blockchain technology, which would benefit the development of the decentralized web but there are still no technologies and applications on which there is unanimous agreement.
Please note that the proposals are presented exactly as they were received, without any translations or modifications.
