Dear AFRALO Members,

Warm greetings.

As we prepare for the upcoming AFRALO Universal Acceptance (UA) Day, scheduled for 13 May 2026, we are pleased to invite your active participation in one of the most important segments of the event:

“Showcasing Universal Acceptance (UA) Adoption Cases from Africa.”

This session aims to highlight real, practical examples of UA implementation across the continent demonstrating how organizations are enabling the use of all domain names and email addresses, including those in local languages and scripts.

Call for Contributions

We invite AFRALO ALSes to submit case studies that demonstrate actual UA adoption efforts, including but not limited to:

  • Implementation of Email Address Internationalization (EAI)
  • Support for local language domain names
  • UA readiness in websites, applications, or platforms
  • Registry or registrar-level UA deployment
  • Government or private sector initiatives advancing UA

Submission Guidelines

To ensure consistency and impact, selected speakers will be asked to present their case studies using the following structure:

  1. Context – Organization and country
  2. The Problem – What UA challenge was identified
  3. The Solution – What was implemented
  4. Evidence/Demo – Screenshots or live demonstration (where possible)
  5. Challenges – Key obstacles faced
  6. Key Lessons – What others can learn and replicate

Important Notes

  • Priority will be given to practical, implemented cases rather than conceptual presentations
  • Presentations will be limited to 8–10 minutes each
  • Selected contributors may be invited for a short pre-event briefing session

How to Submit

Please send a short expression of interest (max 1 page) including:

  • Organization name
  • Country
  • Brief description of your UA use case
  • Contact person

Submission Deadline: 09th May 2026
Send to: mutegekicliff@gmail.com

Your contributions are essential in demonstrating Africa’s progress toward a more inclusive, multilingual, and globally interoperable Internet.

We look forward to your submissions and to showcasing impactful work from across the AFRALO community.
