Dear All,

I hope this email finds you well. Following our discussion during the AFRALO-AfrICANN session at ICANN81 and the review of the AFRALO community's statement,  I wanted to share my summary of the key recommendations provided by the speakers during the session.

1. Incorporating a Section on Existing Opportunities
It was suggested to include a dedicated section in the statement highlighting existing opportunities to advance the use of AI in promoting and supporting a multilingual Internet. Examples of such opportunities include:
2- Proposal for a Mapping Exercise
Recommending a mapping exercise to understand relevant ongoing initiatives in this area. This would help identify the gaps, determine where ICANN can play a role and explore potential partnerships to maximise impact

3- Interpreting relevant technical documents into African Languages
Encourage the AFRALO/African community to translate relevant technical documents into African languages to increase accessibility

Please add any additional recommendations that you might have so that we can incorporate them and finalise the statement.

Thank you and see you shortly at the AFRALO monthly meeting

Kind regards
Hadia Elminiawi
AFRALo chair
