Formally, let me congratulate you on your assumption into office as AFRALO Chairperson. During last week's Conference call, I did offer one belatedly.
Nonetheless, even though I did not support your candidature for the office, I was one of those who supported your novel initiative of bringing together past Alumni of the ICANN Fellowship program as a Think Tank at the last meeting.
I did believe that you have a visionary plan for AFRALO and as a team player, I put my interest second to the organization's interest.
Reading this information from you on the request for the CIP nomination and your last statement in your letter makes me sick! Bram has expressed interest in the position and I believe he has the skills required for the position. Please let me know if this works for all of you.
Is this how you are going to lead us? How can you for the first time inform the house about the nomination for a committee and end up by saying someone has indicated interest and you are asking for your approval in whatever clandestine arrangement you had with Bram? I see this as insulting our sensibilities.
When and where did Bram indicate his interest? Before you made it public to everyone? Or after? Was that the process adopted by your predecessors?
I will advise you to find out how to lead an organization as AFRALO in a democracy. This is not an autocracy and would advise you to retract your statement in reference. For this singular action, Bram should be prevented from taking part in the process of choosing our representative. Your action has exposed your integrity and compromise as a leader for all.
I have made my point and my conscience remains clear.
As usual, I won't be surprised at the chorusing of some of us looking for favours as usual in the face of abuse of office and position.
