1. Strategic Partnerships with AfCFTA
AFRALO should explore formal engagement with AfCFTA institutions especially around digital trade and cross-border e-commerce. As AfCFTA implements the Digital Trade Protocol, AFRALO can play a vital role in:
I am particularly interested in supporting this through position papers, joint events, and stakeholder mapping. I will also be glad to co-ordinate with the AfCFTA regarding this as they are much interested after my engagement with them at the Inaugral AfCFTA Digital Trade Forum that took place in lusaka Zambia. 

2. Strengthening Universal Acceptance (UA) in Africa
Universal Acceptance is key to building an inclusive multilingual Internet across the continent. I propose:

  • Develop targeted re-engagement campaigns for dormant or less active ALSes/Individual members
  • Create policy briefs and simplified guides for complex technical issues and webinars on key ICANN topics
  • Establish policy working group
  • Build collaborative networks with other Regional At-Large Organizations (RALOs) for knowledge sharing
  • Create advocacy materials and toolkits for grassroots engagement.

Communication Strategy:

  • Policy-focused sections in the AFRALO newsletters with technical deep-dives and implementation guide
  • Implement regular surveys and feedback collection systems.
