Subject: [AFRI-Discuss] AfrICANN statement: Announcement Selected Topic and Call for Contributions

Dear AFRALO Community members,

We hope this email finds you in good health and high spirits.

On behalf of the AFRALO Leadership Team, I would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the following members for their contributions :  

• Zakaria Issa Moustapha

• Samwel Kariuki

• Aïssatou Ndiaye

• Prof.  Aziz Hilali

• Seth Adjei Gyimah 

• Chokri ben Romdhane

Among the proposed topics, we are delighted to announce that #Topic4, proposed by Prof. Aziz Hilali, received the most support from the community.

As a result, our chosen topic for the upcoming statement will be:
"Advancing African Digital Identity in the Next gTLD Round: Overcoming Barriers and Leveraging Support Opportunities."

We are now calling for contributions to join the drafting team. Those interested can participate by submitting their ideas via the mailing list by Monday, February 4, 2025.

We are also pleased to inform you that Prof. Aziz Hilali will serve as the pen holder for this initiative.

Thank you for your ongoing dedication and commitment to AFRALO’s mission. We look forward to your active participation in shaping this important statement.
