Thank you for sharing this update Hadia. I confirm my participation
I do, however, have a small question: why is the campaign focusing only on Amazon? As AFRALO, wouldn’t it be useful to also highlight other major platforms or services that need to be UA ready, especially those relevant in Africa? For example, African e-commerce platforms like Jumia, Takealot, Konga, fintech services like Flutterwave or Chipper Cash, or government portals could benefit from UA awareness and outreach.

Dear AFRALO Members

Based on the work of the ALAC Community Engagement Subcommittee (ACES), At-Large is starting a 10 Day UA awareness and deployment campaign. The campaign will run from 1-10 October. If you are going to take part in the campaign, please tweet the following message:

Is @Amazon ready for a truly global Internet? #UniversalAcceptance means supporting all domain names of every length & language. #GetUAReady

Please share on the list:
1. If you are going to participate in the campaign
2. If you are not participating, the reason for your decision.

I thank AFRALO members who are part of ACES for their effort and we will talk further about the campaign during our monthly call on 1 October, see you all then.

Kind regards
Hadia Elminiawi
AFRALO Chair
