It is with great enthusiasm that I submit this nomination for Tijani Ben Jemaa to serve as an At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC) member representing the African Regional At-Large Organization (AFRALO). 

Tijani is not merely a participant in our community; he is widely regarded as a foundational father of AFRALO. Since 2009, his leadership has been instrumental in shaping the trajectory of African internet policy and ensuring that the voices of African end-users are heard clearly within the ICANN ecosystem.

Why Tijani is the Ideal Candidate:

✓ Deep Institutional Knowledge: Having served as the Vice-Chair of AFRALO, Tijani possesses an intimate understanding of the organizational mechanics and the strategic goals of the At-Large community.

✓ Technical Expertise: As a seasoned telecommunications engineer and former TV broadcasting station manager, he brings a rigorous technical perspective to policy discussions. This ensures that his contributions are not only grounded in advocacy but also in technical feasibility.

✓ Commitment to Fairness and Diversity: Tijani has consistently championed equitable representation. His landmark proposal for a **weighted voting system** demonstrated his foresight in preventing any single nation from exerting disproportionate influence, thereby protecting the diverse interests of all ALSes across the continent.

✓ Broad Regional Influence: Beyond ICANN, his role as Director of the Mediterranean Federation of Internet Associations (FMAI) highlights his ability to bridge regional interests and foster collaboration across different internet governance bodies.
