Dear AFRALO members,

On behalf of AFRALO leaders we would like to announce that AFRALO will hold its General Assembly on 24-25 July 2023 on the sidelines of the ICANN hosted African Engagement Forum (AEF) scheduled for 25-26 July 2023 in Accra, Ghana. ICANN will support ONE representative from each ALS to attend the event. This is normally the ALS primary contact  (or his/her appointee), nevertheless, the event is open to all members - as it will be held in a hybrid format so members who are unable to be physically present will be able to participate remotely.

As I mentioned during our last monthly call, the organizing committee has been formed and we have started work in coordination with ICANN staff . The Committee will continue to hold teleconferences periodically. The planning of the GA will include pre and post activities hence the committee may invite other members of the community to assist on various tasks as applicable and I would like to count on your support when this happens.

A Survey will be sent to primary contact of AFRALO ALSes on March 10 to be open until March 20th The survey will assist us to determine your interest and availability to participate in the GA.

Au nom des dirigeants d'AFRALO, nous avons le plaisir de vous informer qu'AFRALO organisera son Assemblée Générale (AG) les 24 et 25 juillet 2023 en marge du Forum d'engagement Africain (AEF) organisé par l'ICANN et qui est prévu les 25 et 26 juillet 2023 à Accra, au Ghana.

L'ICANN prendra en charge UN représentant de chaque ALS pour participer à l'événement. Il s'agit normalement du contact principal de l'ALS (ou de la personne désignée), néanmoins, l'événement est ouvert à tous les membres, car il se tiendra dans un format hybride afin que les membres qui ne peuvent pas être présents en présentiel puissent participer à distance.

Comme nous l’avons mentionné lors de notre dernier appel mensuel, le comité d'organisation a été formé et nous avons commencé à travailler en coordination avec le personnel de l'ICANN. Le Comité continuera de tenir périodiquement des téléconférences. La programmation de l'AG comprendra des activités avant et après, par conséquent, le comité peut inviter d'autres membres de la communauté à participer à diverses tâches, le cas échéant, et nous aimerions compter sur votre soutien lorsque cela aura lieu.

Un questionnaire en ligne sera envoyé au contact principal des ALS d'AFRALO le 10 mars pour être ouvert jusqu'au 20 mars. Le questionnaire nous aidera à déterminer votre intérêt et votre disponibilité pour participer à l'AG.
