Hello Etienne,

You make a good point, we definitely plan to produce the agenda in both french and english version prior to the GA.

However as you have mentioned it now, may I ask the program subcommittee lead (Prof Aziz) who happens to be bi-lingual to help with providing the French version of the agenda.

Hello Raymond,

Am surprised at your comment about letting the chair enjoy his role by allowing him feature more  on the agenda. You really believe that to be my interest?

I find this especially strange considering you are member of the GA that drafted this agenda.

Colleagues, the role of chair or any other leadership role is a responsibility to serve and I believe the agenda as drafted and tasks assigned me by the OC are reasonable enough as per the role of the chair in a GA and will try my best to fulfill them.

Hi all,

I think since the GA is not frequently held, we should allow our Chair who will be ending his tenure at the end of ICANN78 to have all the available opportunities to enjoy his chair role.

In this regard, I think he should give the opening remark and the closing remarks, as well as setting the ground rules for the GA.  It is just good and fair for him to do these as the chair of AFRALO.

However, I also agree that someone else should moderate the session as suggested.

Dear Chairman
Thanks for the update on item 5.

Regarding some of the points @Pastor Peter noted, I had made similar observations in Google doc for effective engagement and session. Unfortunately it was overlooked.

In addition, I had suggested that since you will be giving the welcome address or remarks that Prof Aziz takes the closing remarks, especially as the chair of LOC for GA, which is normal, just, right and professional thing to do.

I will ask you reconsider those suggestions in this regard on Google doc to improve the quality of programming.

Thanks and regards

Dear All.
I observe an improvement in the current draft,  but I have the following comments that needs to be made for a further review.

Day One

First Session

Seun will moderate first session, give welcome remarks, introduce and and set the ground rule item 3 and give the closing remarks
As Chairman,  Seun should not moderate because he has official roles as in Welcome Address and closing remarks as Host.
Anyone else can moderate and perform item 3.

Session 2
Seun moderating, and gives the closing remarks.

The role of the moderator should be assigned to someone else. While someone  gives the closing remarks .

My observations are without prejudice to the capability of Seun to do the job. But as a mark of inclusiveness of all members.  Crowding roles to just current and past leadership of AFRALO to me is defeating that purpose. There is a lot of room to make leaders have a sense of belonging. One role per Any leader is not a bad idea

That is my take on this.  You may hate me or like me for it. It is an objective assessment  it is not about anyone of us. It is about AFRALO.
See you all in Accra by His grace.
Pastor Pet

Good day Mr Chairman

I have gone through the supposed final agenda only to discover that in item 5 where issues affecting AFRALO Newsletter was to be addressed that the names of those speaking there namely Remmy Nweke and Olivier were missing with some notes which suggests intension to shutdown that session.

For the records, that session was proposed by us to enable the team address issues of  lack of optimisation by members and contribution to production thereof.

You are aware of the challenges the team is facing including but not limited to lack of motivation and optimal translations among others. This session is an opportunity to recommit the contact persons directly and take feedbacks as well.

Therefore, I wil suggest that the names of the speakers like in other sessions and as confirmed via Prof Aziz email be reflected.

Secondly that the note also appended on that session be espurged to afford it run its cause despite that the time is just 20mins.

Thanks for your understanding.
