We have successfully organised our AFRALO’s first regional UA Day, with the second currently underway, showcasing the commitment of the entire AFRALO community to digital inclusion.
These accomplishments reflect our collective commitment to strengthening AFRALO’s role within Africa and the ICANN community. As my term concludes at the upcoming Annual General Meeting, I look forward to the opportunity to continue in the role of AFRALO Chair for a final two-year term, building on the progress we have made, striving to surpass it and learning from all previous AFRALO leaders. I respectfully seek your support. My At-Large Structure is Shaarawy Foundation for Development (SFD).
As you may already know I am a member of the SSAC, I was an ICANN58 fellow. My previous roles within the ICANN community include serving a ALAC-AFRALO representative to the NomCom from the 2019 to 2021 AGMs and as ALAC AFRALO member from the 2017 to 2019 AGMs. I am also an active member of the At-Large CPWG and the OFBWG and have contributed to several PDPs and regional ICANN strategies.
By training, I am an engineer, I hold a B.Sc. in Electronics and Communications from the Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University, a M.Sc. in Management and Leadership from Szent Istvan University in Hungary and a Diploma in Engineering Management also from the Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University. I am also interested in Internet Governance and have participated in several global and regional IGFs
