Dear all,
I just wanted to point out that in the ICANN bylaw (https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/governance/bylaws-en/#article12) Section 7.5(V) that talks about ALAC rep to NOMCOM  ONLY say
(v) The ALAC shall, after consultation with each RALO, annually appoint five voting delegates (no two of whom shall be citizens of countries in the same Geographic Region) to the Nominating Committee.
Above is the only aspect of the by-law that talks about ALAC rep to Nom com and it does not mention membership of RALO neither does it mention anything about experience or familiarity with working os the RALO or ALAC. All it says is about Citizenship.
ALSO, the ALAC Rules of Procedure that I have looked at did not mention anything about ALAC rep to NOMCOM.
I hope this would help clarify some of the issues.

Dear Mohammed,
Its unfortunate I could not be heard clearly during the call of today.

I must express my displeasure to learn that Hadia was just registering to be a member of AFRALO.

Its more disheartening to know that our internal selection committee failed to inform this community before the NOMCOM selection election and refused to disclose it including AFRALO leadership, thus the selection process lacks transparency to say the least and the community was misled.

In a sane clime, you cannot represent an organization you do not belong to as a bonafide member. Hence its scandalous for AFRALO leadership to have allowed this to happen.

In addition the Selection Committee fail short of due diligence and I hope we have learnt our lessons.

All the same, I wish Hadia a peaceful and successful tenure.

Yours
