Dear Seth,
Thank you for bringing forward this important topic for consideration at the ICANN83 Policy Forum. I wholeheartedly support the proposal on "Enhancing DNS Abuse Mitigation Capacity in Africa."
DNS abuse is a growing challenge that directly impacts the security and trustworthiness of the Internet ecosystem across our region. As African domain registries and internet service providers continue to expand, it is crucial that we strengthen our capacity to combat threats such as phishing, malware, and spam. Without robust mitigation strategies, users remain vulnerable, and confidence in digital infrastructure diminishes.
I strongly endorse the call for ICANN’s support in providing targeted training, technical tools, and essential resources to help African stakeholders effectively address DNS abuse. Empowering local registries and service providers with the knowledge and tools to tackle these threats will contribute to a safer and more resilient Internet for all.
I look forward to engaging in further discussions on this topic and collaborating to advance meaningful solutions. Thank you again for advocating for this crucial issue.
Best regards,
Abdul-Rafiu Fuseini
