Greetings Ali, Indeed, there is significant effort within the Africa Union to build the Capacity of African leaders in so far as Internet Governance issues are concerned. This are lead by the Head of Infrastructure division Moctar Yedaly, Nepad's Dr. Edmund Katiti and Dr. Towela Jere. Notable initiatives include the Africa Internet Governance Forum that will now be hosted by the Africa Union, the ongoing Africa School of Internet Governance Forum organized by APC with the support of NePAD. I think we are on the right track, from Kenya Alice Munyua, Mwendwa Kivuva, Ephraim Kenyanito and Grace Githaiga are very active in Internet Governance, it would be good if they can contribute to this thread as well. Hi Joly, Not really, however it is worth noting the the African Union is currently an active participant in ICANN's GAC, my thinking is our leaders might not be well versed with technology issues other than Presidents Kagame and Uhuru Kenyatta who lead from the front in so far as technology matters are concerned, i suppose we need to exercise patience.
