This call is official send on 7 september 2008. Secretariat and one ALAC position are open for two years term. Nominations shall be accepted for two weeks after the Secretariat calls for nominations (until 21 September 2008) The nominees need to accept their nomination no later than seven days after the nomination period ends (28 October 2008) The election shall begin no later than one week after the end of the acceptance deadline (5 October 2008) and end not later than two weeks before the start of the annual ICANN meeting. (19 October 2008). In other words, votes would actually be cast between 5 to 19 October 2008. ?

Khaled Koubaa ? the incumbent Nominating Commmittee member from Africa 2. Alan Levin, of ISOC South Africa, who is self-nominated with a second from McTim on the list
When I submitted my name to the list I was not aware of Khaleds position on the Nomcom, nor his willingness and commitment to continue. Since then I have received an email from Khaled where he explained his position and I support his candidature. As such I expect this is unanimous support.
Khaled, I wish you strength and my support in your role on Nomcom!
