Dear all, I humbly nominate Raymond Selorm Mamattah for AFRALO representative to ALAC. Raymond's contribution as a technology entrepreneur and advocate for digital rights and internet freedom in Africa cannot be over-emphasized. Through EGIGFA (of which he is the founder), Raymond Mamattah has organized several initiatives and programs aimed at promoting the use of ICTs and Internet governance across Africa. These include conferences, training workshops, and research projects on various aspects of e-governance and Internet governance in Africa. His footprints are at every corner of AFRALO. Ghanasig is one of the most vibrant SIGs in the ecosystem which is training several fellows from different African countries annually to effectively engage in the internet ecosystem/ICANN, and he is the master architect of the SIG in Ghana. His contributions to the several ICANN working groups he serves have been phenomenal and already putting Africa in a reputable perspective across the ecosystem. I have had the opportunity to work with him on Universal Acceptance (UA) Working group and I concluded that he is full of ideas and serving as an ALAC member will offer the best opportunity to do more of what he is best at; the brilliant ideas towards achieving organization's goals and leading to Africa's breakthrough in the ecosystem. He is well recognized for his work in promoting digital rights and internet governance in Africa. In 2019, he was named one of the top 50 digital transformation leaders in Africa by the Digital Transformation Congress. Raymond is a person fitter at representing Africa for the ALAC membership based on his skill set in the internet ecosystem, organizational matters, and related internet activities across Africa in particular and across the globe. Hello everyone, I would like to show my support for Raymond Mamattah for his nomination As the AFRALO representative to ALAC. Raymond's skills set and Official prowess has been elaborated in previous in the preceding threads. I would take a more personal approach. Raymond is a mentor in the truest sense. From responding to my burning questions even in the dead of night to making sure all GhanaSIG fellows are participating meaningfully in the ecosystem. My respect for Raymond grew deeper when I had the opportunity to participate in-person at the IGF 22 in Ethiopia. Raymond literally walked me through every thing. In a nutshell, Raymond is a grassroots person, he is a mentor and the kind of impact he has created is unmatched in Ghana's Internet Governance Ecosystem. He is inspiration to us all and I strongly belief that he is very resourceful and will fulfill his duties diligently. *Selection Schedule for ALAC Members, RALO Leadership, and ALAC Delegates to the NomCom:*
- 17 April 2023 - Announcement of call for nominations and Nominee's Statement. (Except for NARALO, which opened on 13 April 2023) - 17 April – 28 April 2023 - Nomination period (nominations accepted for 10 working days). - 5 May 2022 - Deadline for nomination acceptances - 9 May 2023 - 11 May 2023- Calls with the candidates if desired by the RALOs. - 12 May - 19 May 2023 - Elections (If required, elections will begin no later than one week after the deadline for nomination acceptances and end no later than two weeks after that deadline). - 2023 AGM [ ICANN78] - Newly elected ALAC Members and RALOs Leaders shall be seated at the end of the 2023 AGM following the close of the Board Meeting on 26 September 2023.

- Ineligibility for Service – Current or future ICANN employees or paid ICANN consultants (including Ombudsman) are excluded from consideration for eligibility as described in Article 8, Section 8.9 of ICANN’s Bylaws <https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/governance/bylaws-en/#article8> . - The ICANN community is diverse and the composition of the NomCom should reflect this in order to fulfill its mission. - NomCom delegates should have a high-level network of contacts essential to candidate recruitment. - The delegate should be able to join monthly teleconferences. Note that the NomCom's workload *will increase* significantly during the candidate assessment process. Conference calls are held more frequently during this time as well (typically weekly and the duration of the calls may last up to three hours). - All NomCom delegates should have the ability to travel to and participate in ICANN Public meetings and NomCom meetings when requested (travel and hotel accommodations will be provided for all approved meetings). *Selection Schedule for ALAC Members, RALO Leadership, and ALAC Delegates to the NomCom:*
- 17 April 2023 - Announcement of call for nominations and Nominee's Statement. (Except for NARALO, which opened on 13 April 2023) - 17 April – 28 April 2023 - Nomination period (nominations accepted for 10 working days). - 5 May 2022 - Deadline for nomination acceptances - 9 May 2023 - 11 May 2023- Calls with the candidates if desired by the RALOs. - 12 May - 19 May 2023 - Elections (If required, elections will begin no later than one week after the deadline for nomination acceptances and end no later than two weeks after that deadline). - 2023 AGM [ ICANN78] - Newly elected ALAC Members and RALOs Leaders shall be seated at the end of the 2023 AGM following the close of the Board Meeting on 26 September 2023.

- Ineligibility for Service – Current or future ICANN employees or paid ICANN consultants (including Ombudsman) are excluded from consideration for eligibility as described in Article 8, Section 8.9 of ICANN’s Bylaws <https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/governance/bylaws-en/#article8>. - The ICANN community is diverse and the composition of the NomCom should reflect this in order to fulfill its mission. - NomCom delegates should have a high-level network of contacts essential to candidate recruitment. - The delegate should be able to join monthly teleconferences. Note that the NomCom's workload *will increase* significantly during the candidate assessment process. Conference calls are held more frequently during this time as well (typically weekly and the duration of the calls may last up to three hours). - All NomCom delegates should have the ability to travel to and participate in ICANN Public meetings and NomCom meetings when requested (travel and hotel accommodations will be provided for all approved meetings). If travel is restricted, then NomCom delegates will meet virtually.
