Thanks Aziz. I would like to propose “ICANN Jurisdiction”, its a hot topic now within ICANN, there are heated debates and discussions in the Jurisdiction WG about the ICANN US Jurisdiction. As a US based entity, ICANN is subject to S laws, The question that might be rise is “ Dose ICANN US Jurisdiction effect the Domain Names Industry in Africa ?” we have many AfRALO members are active participants in the Jurisdiction debate and can provide lead a statement drafting team which can produce a balanced statement regarding the ICANN Jurisdiction issue from an African Internet community prospective. Dear Aziz, I would like to propose, the effect of General Data Protection Regulation on Internet Commerce in Africa. It is a hot topic in ICANN and we might want to understand how it will affect the continent and whether the continent requires a similar mechanism as the Domain Name Industry grows. Consider that GDPR's compliance is not close to the priorities of IT leaders in Africa for 2017, this means that we are exposed to problems. The GDPR - the* General Data Protection Regulation* - will always be a major challenge, as it broadens the scope of issues that organizations need to consider when planning their data strategy. In Europe, this law on data protection has been finalized. This is called the *General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)* and will replace local data protection laws. The EU institutions have respected their promises to eliminate red tape for business but also to strengthen privacy protections for individuals. This means that privacy rules will change and organizations that process personal information will need to adapt. There are lines that can not be crossed. There are rules on the game. But within limits and according to the rules, one is limited by one's own creativity to achieve its objectives. One must be sure to navigate the risk of confidentiality, to remain in the rules of the game, while allowing privacy to be a business facilitator and to use personal data to increase customer confidence. *WHAT IS THE CASE IN AFRICA?* In my opinion, Barrack's proposal merits special attention. 2017-09-12 8:23 GMT+01:00 Baudouin SCHOMBE <baudouin.schombe@gmail.com>:

Dear Aziz,
I would like to propose, the effect of General Data Protection Regulation on Internet Commerce in Africa. It is a hot topic in ICANN and we might want to understand how it will affect the continent and whether the continent requires a similar mechanism as the Domain Name Industry grows.
