**Dear AFRALO colleagues and friends,** I hope this message finds you well. We look forward to your valuable insights and active engagement in this important initiative. Warm regards, -- Hervé Sètondji HOUNZANDJI AFRALO Secretary
Thank you for sharing the draft charter of the AFRALO Advisory Group (AAG). I hope this message finds everyone well. I appreciate the efforts of Pastor Peters and the leadership team in preparing this document. After reviewing the draft, I have provided the following suggestions for strengthening the charter: 1. *Clarification of AAG’s Role*: I recommend explicitly defining whether the AAG’s advice is binding, advisory, or consultative, and how it interfaces with the formal decision-making processes within AFRALO. 2. *Reporting and Accountability*: It would be beneficial to include a section on how the AAG will report to the AFRALO leadership, such as periodic reports or an annual summary of advisory inputs. 3. *Onboarding and Continuity*: I suggested incorporating an onboarding process for new members and designating a liaison for continuity to maintain consistency and effective participation within the group. 4. *Simplification of ICANN Bylaws*: The section referencing the ICANN Bylaws is quite dense. I recommend summarizing the relevance of the Bylaws in simpler terms and moving the full text to an appendix for easier readability. I will be happy to discuss any of these points further if needed. I look forward to contributing to the continued development of the AAG. Mr. Cliff, Thank you for your contributions. Without making it a debate between you and I, I want to respond briefly by way of guidance (and it will also serve to guide ) other contributors. Having said that, the purpose for sharing the document is not for members to raise questions demanding answers but to provide your inputs by way of proposals or suggestions. For example, you observed that the bye laws referenced require a simpler definition-one would have expected you provide that as your contributions. That is how it should go. The feedback from members is to be done within 10 days as this is not an infinitum process. My document is a draft and a guide. Provide your suggestions, please, and others should also follow the same process.
