Dear All,
On behalf of Jonathan Zuck, ALAC Chair, we are happy to inform you that the fourth At-Large Summit (ATLAS IV) will take place 13-18 March 2027 during ICANN88. This is a call for volunteers
from the At-Large community to join the following ATLAS IV Subcommittees by expressing their interest through this
form by 17 July
2026, 23:59 UTC.
While the ALAC Leadership Team (ALT) welcomes participation by all interested volunteers, there is a need to keep the size of each subcommittee manageable. For this reason, volunteers
are encouraged to express their interest in no
more than two (2) subcommittees, and should there be an abundance of expressions of interest, the ALT shall decide on the final compositions of all four subcommittees.
Where feasible, particular attention will be given to regional balance in the memberships of two of the subcommittees - the ATLAS IV Participant Selection Criteria Subcommittee, and the Program Planning Subcommittee. Once determined, selected volunteers will
be asked to enroll through ICANN JOIN.
It must be noted that, being a hybrid event, ATLAS IV participation can be either by remote participation or in-person participation; however, volunteering and/or being included as a
volunteer in any of the 4 subcommittees in no
way guarantees selection for in-person participation
in ATLAS IV.
A brief description of each subcommittee follows.
1. Communications Subcommittee
This subcommittee will be tasked with developing and implementing a communications framework for publicizing ATLAS IV, both before and during the event. This subcommittee is expected
to handle reporting of ATLAS IV, be it by-session, daily or in real-time, via social media. It will also be tasked to produce a post-event ATLAS IV outcome report.
2. Ice-Breaker & Social Activities Subcommittee
This subcommittee will be responsible for organizing the ice-breaker activity on Day 1 of ATLAS IV, as well as other social activities in collaboration with At-Large Staff, subject to
the scheduling for ICANN88 and applicable budgetary limits.
3. ATLAS IV Participant Selection Criteria Subcommittee
Led jointly by Alan
Greenberg and Claire
Craig, this subcommittee will be responsible for developing and recommending to the ALAC, the ATLAS IV Participation Selection Criteria, by which applicants will be evaluated
for selection. To avoid any perceived bias, members of this subcommittee will not participate in the actual evaluation and selection of applicants. This subcommittee is also expected to collaborate with the Program Planning Subcommittee to include any pre-summit
resources required to be reviewed by ATLAS IV applicants.
4. Program Planning Subcommittee
Led by Jonathan
Zuck, this subcommittee will be responsible for developing and recommending to the ALAC, the ATLAS IV program sessions and agendas, including the formats and speakers, to
achieve the goal of “Building Inclusion and Trust in and through the At-Large Loop”. The ATLAS
IV High Level Working Agenda and the ATLAS
IV Working Agenda Details serve as guidance
for this subcommittee. This subcommittee will also be expected to establish any pre-summit resources required to be reviewed by ATLAS IV applicants.
A working timeline for these 4 subcommittees is as follows. However, each subcommittee will establish the finer timelines for its respective tasks, in coordination with At-Large Staff
and the ALT.
Indicative Working timeline
Kind regards,
Heidi
