Agreed. There should be a portal to consolidate all of the capacity building materials for ALSes to browse.

My concern with the webinars are that the webinars aren't easily reusable after the webinar. The Adobe Connect recording IMO is too clunky to be easily shared on social media or embedded on an ALS website like say a YouTube video. It also requires Adobe Flash to view, so that means its inaccessible over mobile devices. One can't save the file locally to give to someone on a flash drive (who may not have good broadband access to stream the recording)
or easily reuse in any local outreach events.

As we speak there is a webinar on for new ALSes – to give them an introduction to ICANN. I think it has been organised by staff and RALO Secs. Great idea but as has been noted by Tijani, at least some notification to the CBWG would be appropriate so that we could at least coordinate such activities.

 

We need a properly set up, interesting and inviting portal with all the CB activities that have already been produced, so that we are not reinventing the wheel and can just focus on filling gaps in our support for CB. We could then direct newbies to the site and to specific webinars or other presentations, or they could prepare their own training package.

On behalf of Tijani Ben Jemaa, Chair of the At-Large Capacity Building Working Group, we are requesting your suggestions for the topics of the Capacity Building webinars. These webinars are important tools for both new and experienced members of the At-Large community.

 

Following the successful series of capacity building webinars during the first half of 2015, topics are now being sought for At-Large Capacity Building webinars to be held between September and December 2015.

 

Please post your suggested topics directly on the At-Large Capacity Building Webinars - Topic Proposals for 2015 Workspace or send your topics to At-Large Staff. The deadline for topic proposals is 24 August.

 

The At-Large Capacity Building Working Group will review all proposals and announce the topics to be presented in early September.
