HI Vanda and all,
Joanna has been doing a fantastic job in the last 2 years no doubt about that but I think we need to look at the  key criteria that would be used to evaluate the candidates which are:
 
Based on my experience on a similar committee the first evaluation that would be done would be to check if these key criteria are met, and once the person does not meet them the application is automatically dropped.  I think Joanna is currently doing a good job with our policy sessions and deserve this type of award but I do not think she meets these criteria. My suggestion is to look a person that meet the criteria and has equally contributed to capacity building in the past.

REMINDER: Nomination Opens for Dr. Tarek Kamel Award for Capacity Building

ICANN recently opened a one-month nomination period for the Dr. Tarek Kamel Award for Capacity Building.

 

ICANN first introduced the Dr. Tarek Kamel Award for Capacity Building in January to recognize ICANN community members for significant efforts in developing capacity in areas related to ICANN's Mission. The award was established in honor of the late Dr. Tarek Kamel, an Internet pioneer known for his contributions to global Internet governance. At the time of his passing, Kamel was ICANN's Senior Advisor to the President and Senior Vice President for Government and Intergovernmental Organization Engagement.

REMINDER: Standing Panel for the ICANN Independent Review Process - Call for Expressions of Interest

 

On 31 March 2020, ICANN opened a call for Expressions of Interest for panelists to serve on the omnibus Standing Panel for the ICANN Independent Review Process (IRP).

 

Candidates for the IRP omnibus Standing Panel should review the Expressions of Interest document before submission. The document includes the following information:

 

  • Panel Position Description
  • Required or Highly Preferred Skills
  • Required or Highly Preferred Experience
  • Time Commitment
  • Compensation and Selection

 

Expressions of Interest should be submitted to irp-standingpanel-eoi2020@icann.org by 23:59 UTC on Friday, 31 August 2020.
