Regarding ICANN58, I presume that plans for the Copenhagen meeting were well underway when the Panama meeting was cancelled.

This is the first time in many years (or perhaps ever!) that we are planning meetings this far out. For many reasons, it is really great. But the down side is that if there is a change such as for Panama and perhaps PR, you cannot just change a upcoming meeting to compensate.

I am really surprised that with LAC having lost the Panama meeting to Europe, ICANN58 was not going to be swapped back to LAC. This means that there will not be a meeting in LAC until 2018 at the earliest.
