I agree Bill

From our joint discussions with the GAC over the years I believe that there is definitely enough alignment between our groups to justify our continued joint efforts with the GAC, especially wrt public interest. Otherwise, what would be the point of our collaboration at all?

It's true that the notion of "public interest" isn't always strictly aligned between end users and governments.  But I would suggest that it's sufficiently close that joint efforts are often feasible.  And far more likely to be effective that either of us alone.
