Thank you for volunteering to work on this issue.
The document was written far before ITEMS proposed anything. It reframed the debate about the ALS expectations and is a kind of new way to address the issue that was adopted by ALAC.

So, now, we have a pool of volunteers, and I’m sure we will have this work well done before Copenhagen under the leadership of Alan.

The second bullet in the Proposal section of the document just promotes the ITEMS EMM: "Focus upon the membership of each ALS rather than just it’s formal representative(s)."  Also, the third bullet in the same section: "Aim to disseminate appropriate base information on ICANN and key ICANN issues..." does not add to the future. I believe that is what Tijani's Capacity Building Group has been doing all these years.

Please included me in the group.  This document focus on the EMM only. I understand that there are a more issues than this alone. Are we aiming to comment only on this issue or all of them.?

In Hyderabad the ALAC approved the attached document as the basis for moving forward, and decided to convene a small group to refine it. I know that Tijani agreed to participate as well as at least one other person.

Given that this will form the core of our alternative to the ITEMS Empowered Membership Model, we need to quickly convert this concept into a specific plan.

As a first step, please let me know if you want to participate in this. Any plan will be brought back to the ALAC, but we need to flesh it out quickly to have credibility in replying to the At-Large Review draft report.

Those who volunteer should start making notes on exactly how they want a plan fleshed out so we can draft a document for ALAC and RALO Leadership discussion and ALAC approval.

I hope to convene the first meeting next week.
