This is all good stuff. We aren’t going to capture everyone. That said, when we DO get a new active participant, we need to make sure we recognize it and give that volunteer all the tools we can to actively engage. No one is talking about sacrificing anyone, especially if they are meaningfully engaged in the work we do, veterans or not. Simply put, our focus could be on getting active volunteers to the meetings. In any case, we’ll discuss further, for sure.

I have only seen one report-survey of past fellows and their engagement and it was pretty obvious that  the vast majority is AWOL.  Dev and myself created a database of the NexGen and Fellows and it shows the number of repeat fellowships which could be construed as potential active member.  Please note  that the Fellowship only recently allowed European and North Americans

Whether there is the same need with Fellows depends on what the goals of the fellowship program are.  That is, are we looking to increase awareness across the outside world?  Or do we hope for involvement with ICANN and/or the other institutions of Internet governance?
