Subject: Re: [ALAC] Re: Petition for EC Request for Reconsideration of the Board's decision on reviews

I think what's most important now (and moving forward) to "beat the bushes" -- ALAC leadership (in particular) should be contacting the other SO/ACs (and GNSO SG/Cs) IMMEDIATELY to try to get support.  "Build it and they will come" won't work here.

ALAC/At-Large can either improve or diminish its standing/reputation with how we handle this period.

I was not in Prague but for ALAC to have decided to go the EC route, I want to assume there may have been some either formal or informal discussion with the other DPs with support(in principle) from at least 1 of the DPs. I hope that is not a "wishful assumption" :-)

An ALAC Advice to the ICANN Board is At-Large's big stick. If we choose to forgo that and in this kind of politics, it's always a good thing to count the votes before voting.

So, in light of abandonment of an ALAC-recon, how many of the other [4] DPs have shown up for this scrimmage? If there are holdouts, what is the estimation for how long that will last?

Olivier,

In Prague, the decision was made to pursue the EC reconsideration request rather than an  ALAC Reconsideration request. The draft you refer to was therefore abandoned.

Dear Jonathan,

thanks for sharing this.

In the meantime, has the ALAC filed its own reconsideration request as per https://docs.google.com/document/d/1uvknIIFoJhUCDVoHo-ydJdwxU1A76Y3WFrnIABOc-sE/edit?usp=sharing ?

Kindest regards,

Olivier

Folks,

As discussed, here is the Empowered Community Petition for a Request for Reconsideration of the Board’s May 19 decision on reviews. We are now on the clock to find allies.
