SSR-RT Draft Report [Request for an Extension]
Dear All, Warm Greetings from Fiji. I am mindful that their SSR-RT Draft Report on the 15th March, 2012 in Costa Rica, see: http://www.icann.org/en/news/public-comment/ssrt-draft-report-15mar12-en.htm I am still in the middle of preparing my Report to my RALO and will invite feedback on this. I am also aware that in light of the appointment of a new Liaison officer Julie Hammond, that we should consider writing to ask for an extension to enable us to gather feedback from the various RALOs and consolidate it into a Statement of some sort. Currently comments close on the 8th April, 2012. Olof Nording is the contact within ICANN Staff: olof.nordling@icann.org Basically, I am asking for an extension just in case we do not receive feedback in time. From what was told to us in Costa Rica, the minimum is 21 days which means that the extension is doable. Warm Regards, -- Salanieta Tamanikaiwaimaro aka Sala Tweeter: @SalanietaT Skype:Salanieta.Tamanikaiwaimaro Cell: +679 998 2851
Dear Sala, thank you for your note. If needed, we'll ask for an extension closer to the date, but I completely agree with you & look forward to a first draft, should it be determined that a statement from the ALAC is needed. BTW -- it is Julie Hammer, not Hammond. :-) I'm CC'ing her specifically for her input on this. Kind regards, Olivier On 24/03/2012 19:16, Salanieta T. Tamanikaiwaimaro wrote :

Dear Olivier, Thank you for your email. Apologies Julie for misspelling your name. I think it is critical that all ALAC members consult their respective RALOs. Since Alejandro chairs the group that published the draft and he is from the LACRALO region, we can even organise with Staff to have a webinar and get him to present the report to the At Large community through a webinar. If we can get this off the ground as early as possible, we can then work towards getting people to read the Report and its recommendations for a compilation of a first draft. Apparently comments will close on the 30th April, 2012. So we need to get a few drafts ready by the 14th April, 2012 and simultaneously work towards getting feedback from our ALS members. Alejandro has gotten back to me in relation to the due dates, and had shown him that the way the dates were placed were confusing. I was advised that it was open for comments till 30th April, 2012 but the variation on the link is that that's the reply period etc. I suppose this was what Ayesha was referring to during the Open Board meeting. Sala thanks - let me make sure with the support team that everything is aligned. clearly this does not convey the same message as the SSR Review page. On Sun, Mar 25, 2012 at 8:49 AM, Salanieta T.
