Tijani, friends I tend to agree with you and also disagree. Agree that there is need to outreach and shall have money to be used for this, but I do outreach in many occasions without the CROP, so CROP is not the only alternative for outreach. At same time Onboarding Pilot was an way to guarantee that people that will start with ICANN (so Outreach is already done) will feel welcome in order to understand all issues, have chance to choose their way inside ICANN and, as such, remain. I believe being the fund just one, it can be split between both programs. Once divided each program will focus on its goals. Guess we all agree both programs are important. What is not correct and I agree with you is use the $ from CROP to go to ICANN meetings – there is no outreach to be done there. But for ONBOARDING is just the opposite, more work shall be done during first days at ICANN meetings. As I said, being most of meeting time at AFRALO booth in Jo’Burg allowed me to respond to all doubts about ICANN and the way to go further to more than 100 colleagues, of course , mostly from Africa but this is valid for all regions. This program (CROP) was designed to make outreach for new people. Now that it’s proposed that CROP is used for the COP menses, I say nooo. No for the following reasons: · Doing so will minimize the opportunity for outreach which is the sole objective of this program · The Onboarding program would be with no interest if it is for only one meeting. Remember how many meetings took the first pilot program (From Marrakech to Abu Dhabi = 4-5 meetings) We will end up with the ICANN org cancel the CROP program because we are using it for what wasn’t intended to be the objective. As for the selection of the Mentors / Mentees, we are supposed now to do it through the community. Since we are supposed to be a bottom-up decision making community, let’s take proposals from the RALOs. The final selection from the pool the RALOs proposed should be done by the selection committee (we have created a committee, let’s use it). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tijani BEN JEMAA Executive Director Mediterranean Federation of Internet Associations (FMAI) Phone: +216 98 330 114 +216 52 385 114 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Le 22 nov. 2017 à 00:01, Seun Ojedeji <seun.ojedeji@gmail.com<mailto:seun.ojedeji@gmail.com>> a écrit : Hello Olivier, Considering it's a Max of 3 persons (mentors/mentees inclusive), let me try elimination method with the options suggested inline: Sent from my mobile Kindly excuse brevity and typos On Nov 21, 2017 11:43 PM, "Olivier MJ Crépin-Leblond" <ocl@gih.com<mailto:ocl@gih.com>> wrote: Dear Maritza, thanks for your follow-up.
