The nominations period has now closed. If I have followed this thread correctly, we have the following nominations: AFRALO: Tijani Ben Jemaa APRALO: Holly Raiche EURALO: Veronica Cretu LACRALO: León Sanchez To date, we have had no public acceptances of these nominations, although all four have privately confirmed to me that they are willing to serve. Our rules do call for an acceptance to the ALAC list - a reply to this message confirming acceptance id sufficient. All four have also been nominated for a position of Vice-Chair. Please contact me privately and let me know to what extent you are interested in and willing to serve in this capacity. Although there are no explicit responsibilities associated with this role other than on occasion replacing the Chair, Vice-Chairs are committing to a higher level of time commitment that the other ALT members. Staff will forward all acceptances to <mailto:alac-announce@atlarge-lists.icann.org>alac-announce@atlarge-lists.icann.org.
Following the close of the nominations period and the acceptance or rejection of all nominations, candidates from regions where the position is not contested will be declared to have won by acclamation.
If there are multiple candidates from any region, the candidates, in conjunction with the ALAC, will be given the opportunity to resolve the situation. Failing that, a secret vote of the ALAC will decide the winner.
If the resultant ALT includes two members nominated to be Vice-Chairs, those two will serve in those positions. If there are less than two or more than two nominated as Vice-Chairs, the ALAC Chair will decide who will occupy the Vice-Chair positions.
