Proposed motion for the August 25th meeting - English, French and Spanish
I propose that the ALAC discuss the following motion, and if there is QUICK consensus, that we adopt it. If it will require additional consultation and discussion, it can be postponed, but for a number of reason, it would be VERY timely if the Board had this sooner rather than later. In the interest of expediency, I have included machine translations into French and Spanish. Thanks Wendy. It does address the question of which one is in force, but not when the expected renewal will be. I am others have been asking for this information since before the RAA was approved and have not been able to get any meaningful data. The last time was yesterday, when we were finally told that registrars responsible for over 50% of registrations have signed on, but that could mean as few as a half down (or so) registrars, so it is really not satisfactory. We are starting the process of a Registrant list of rights, but it is quite meaningless if a registrant or potential one cannot know which regime is in effect. It does address the question of which one is in force, but not when the expected renewal will be. I am others have been asking for this information since before the RAA was approved and have not been able to get any meaningful data. The last time was yesterday, when we were finally told that registrars responsible for over 50% of registrations have signed on, but that could mean as few as a half down (or so) registrars, so it is really not satisfactory.
We are starting the process of a Registrant list of rights, but it is quite meaningless if a registrant or potential one cannot know which regime is in effect. Not posting that the old RAA is still in effect would indeed be a good incentive, but allowing a couple of weeks should have been enough...
