Item 1: Regulatory Updates Briefing The second GAC-ALAC Regulatory Developments Briefing was successfully held in collaboration with ICANN’s Governmental Engagement Team. The session focused on the impact of the UN Cybercrime Convention and the Second Additional Protocol to the Budapest Convention on the Domain Name System (DNS), covering: - Sovereignty concerns and cross-border data access - The role of ICANN’s multistakeholder model in global Internet governance - Challenges related to data privacy, security, and human rights protections We saw high attendance and strong engagement, helping to build consensus on supporting these instruments as complementary to our WSIS+20 and Global Digital Compact efforts. Preparations for the Seattle meeting are progressing well.
