Once of the items on my work plan as Rapporteur is to start a re-write of the ALAC Rules of Procedure RoP. Please note that in addition to the overall revision of the RoP, we will also, in the near future, be looking at two very specific issues: a) Key Performance Indicators and what our expectations are for ALAC members/workers; and b) Rules associated with the Ex-Com (or perhaps abolishment of it). I *know* that there is disagreement on these issues, but please let us not discuss thin in this thread. Although these two issues will be in the final version of the RoP, what I am looking for now are comments and thoughts on the REST of the RoP. To start the process, I would like to collect your thoughts on what needs to be done. Below are a few of the items that are already on my list. - Addition of rules for the selection of Liaisons (currently not there) - Overall review to ensure that we don't have rules which conflict with each other - Clarification of the usage of the terms Motion and Resolution - Cleaning up of the election processes associated with exceptional circumstances - Overall attempt to keep the rules as simple as possible without missing important things - Clarification of the term "delegate" You can find our current RoP (ALAC/2007/1/1.Rev10) in English, Spanish and French at https://st.icann.org/alac/index.cgi?rules_of_procedure. Please send you thoughts and comments to the list or directly to me. Alan
