GNSO Work Prioritization Effort
As you will recall, the GNSO has decided to assess the priority of its various projects, as a step in deciding how to manage its overall workload. As the ALAC Liaison, I will take part in this process and we need to decide exactly how my submission should be formulated. There are 15 projects to be evaluated. Details on these projects can be found at <http://gnso.icann.org/drafts/work-prioritization-project-list-30apr10-en.pdf>http://gnso.icann.org/drafts/work-prioritization-project-list-30apr10-en.pdf. My submission is due on June 7, and there will be a further evaluation exercise carried out face-to-face in Brussels. I hope we will have time for a brief discussion on this at the ALAC meeting. Alan
Thanks Alan to provide us with this interesting and useful document from ICANN policy Staff. To help the brieviness (new word?) of the discussion during the ALAC meeting in few minutes I would like to make the following comments / questions... To enhance the document it will be useful to : 1/ split the projects in Policy / Processes 2/ translate it in French and Spanish (or 6 UN?) 3/ add JAS New gTLD Applicant Support WG 4/ evaluate the investment (in time) for Staff / Volunteers Is the OSC and PPSC are projects, permanents sub-group of GNSO, something else? In front of each project to list the At-Large / ALC participation. It will be useful to have the same form the other SO (ccNSO and ASO). It will help ALAC to setup part of it working program. PS I try to translate with Google "conspicuous" and the result was in French "visible". Can the word be used also in English? All for now ;) All the best Sébastien Bachollet sebastien@bachollet.com +33 6 07 66 89 33

Why?
2/ translate it in French and Spanish (or 6 UN?)
Not my call, but we do have a deadline just under 2 weeks.
3/ add JAS New gTLD Applicant Support WG
The list is fixed at this point. New projects may be added to the list over time, but not in the next few weeks. Joint WGs were not included.
4/ evaluate the investment (in time) for Staff / Volunteers
Is the OSC and PPSC are projects, permanents sub-group of GNSO, something else?
Sorry, don't understand.
In front of each project to list the At-Large / ALC participation.
This is im[portant to understand, but should not be the sole basis for our evaluation.
It will be useful to have the same form the other SO (ccNSO and ASO). It will help ALAC to setup part of it working program.
Perhaps, but this is a GNSO initiative.
PS I try to translate with Google "conspicuous" and the result was in French "visible". Can the word be used also in English?
Yes. But stronger - "Hard to miss". The expression in English that corresponds is "sticking out like a sore thumb".
All for now ;) All the best
