Dear all

Pls see below an invitation for a special call later today, addressed to everyone who has not yet taken the GeoNames survey. The survey elicits inputs from across the At-Large community on the complex matter of how Geographic Names should be treated for new gTLDs.

During the call, the Consolidated Policy Working Group (CPWG) leaders will facilitate participants to take the survey.

If you are a new entrant to ICANN policy, or if you have been reluctant to participate in policy because of the prior knowledge required, this would be a good place to start. Also, since most of the senior folk have already taken the survey, most participants are likely to be non-experts, and it would perhaps be easier to raise questions. And finally, this call comes at a convenient time-zone for most of us in Asia-Pacific.

To be CLEAR, this is a special call for people who have NOT taken the survey and wish to do so with my assistance and the that of interpreters in French and Spanish. It is NOT a discussion of the poll or its results. That will happen on the regular CPWG call. Sorry if there’s any confusion.
