Thank you for circulating the call for Expressions of Interest.
I would like to formally express my strong interest in serving as a panelist for the 2026 ICANN Community Excellence Award Selection Panel.
I am a transformational changemaker and policy expert with over 33 years of experience in ICT journalism, Internet governance, e-commerce, and digital inclusion. Since 2006, I have been serving as the Secretary General of the Bangladesh Internet Governance Forum (BIGF), where I have led multistakeholder collaboration, policy advocacy, and capacity-building initiatives at both national and global levels.
I also serve as the Executive Editor of Computer Jagat, Chairman of Arpon Communication Ltd. (ISP), Co-Founder of e-CAB, and Founder SIG Coordinator of bdSIG. Additionally, I am actively engaged in the global Internet governance ecosystem as a member of APRALO, APrIGF MSG, and ISPAB. I am also a fellow of APSIG and the ISOC Community 2025. Over the years, I have participated in more than ten UN IGFs and various international forums, consistently advocating for inclusive and sustainable digital development.
Given my longstanding engagement with the community and my commitment to strengthening ICANN’s multistakeholder model, I would be honored to contribute to the Selection Panel’s work.

_______________________________________________Dear All,
On behalf of Jonathan Zuck, ALAC Chair, this is a call for Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for persons to apply to be a participant on the 2026 ICANN Community Excellence Award Selection Panel.
This is a community selected award to select the recipient of the 2026 ICANN Community Excellence Award.
The ALAC has two slots on the ICANN Community Excellence Award. Judith Hellerstein has agreed to serve a second term. The second panelist slot is termed out.
Some guidance related to panelists is below:
With appropriate staff support, we envision the workload of the selection panelists will be limited. There will be some time necessarily devoted to reviewing nominations, with expected weekly one-hour calls from early January through the end of February to discuss the process, review the nominations, and select the award recipient.
Interested At-Large Members are requested to send their Expression of Interest (EOI) to At-Large Staff no later than Tuesday, 19 November 2025 by 23:59 UTC.
The ALAC Appointee Selection Subcommittee (AASC) will review the EOIs and notify the ALAC of their selections.
ALAC Nominations must be submitted to the NextGen Support Staff no later than Thursday, 5 December 2025.
Kind regards,
Heidi
