I think that a teleconference with the board liaison candidates would give us an idea on who these persons are and a chance to ask them any questions we might have. I know Vittorio and Wendy have been involved with ICANN for a long time; I don’t know SB very much.

 

I support a meeting some when during next week. If we can schedule it around 1200/1300 GMT would be great.

Dear Asia-Pacific, African, and European At-Large members:

 

As you may know, the ICANN Board Liaison is about to be elected, for a term from this October 2007 until the next ICANN AGM in 2008.

 

The North American and LAC Regional ALS communities got to meet and discuss issues with the candidates in person in San Juan. If the members of the African, Asia-Pacific, and/or European regions would like to have an opportunity to meet the candidates, via teleconference, I am happy to arrange the teleconference.

 

The ALAC is keen to get the election concluded, and has asked that these teleconferences be arranged for next week - 16 - 22 July. 

 

The ALAC has further asked that if you are interested in having such a teleconference, you should respond NOT LATER THAN 15 JULY to your regional list. 

 

The three candidates are:

 

Sebastien Bachollet (France)

Vittorio Bertola (Italy) - current serving Board Liaison

Wendy Seltzer (USA)
