I am pleased to nominate Kasun Tharaka Wickramasuriya for the position of Vice Chair of APRALO.

Kasun Tharaka has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to the ICANN ecosystem and Internet Governance in APAC through his proactive and sustained engagement. He brings a solid understanding of Internet governance, combined with a genuine dedication to the At-Large community, making him a suitable candidate to represent the Asia Pacific region.

His contributions to local outreach initiatives and active participation in policy discussions reflect his commitment to strengthening an inclusive, multistakeholder model. Kasun’s forward-thinking approach and results-oriented mindset would be valuable assets to APRALO’s leadership.

Currently serving as the National Coordinator for the UN IGF Sri Lanka initiative, Kasun is well aware of the roles and responsibilities associated with ALAC and RALO leadership. His professional experience in digital transformation and policy development further strengthens his ability to contribute meaningfully at both regional and global levels, including his engagement in regional forums, Schools on Internet Governance (SIGs), and UN IGF processes.

In addition, Kasun is a dedicated advocate for capacity building and works actively to promote inclusive participation, particularly among underserved and marginalized communities across the region and beyond.

I strongly believe that Kasun Tharaka Wickramasuriya would serve APRALO effectively as Vice Chair and contribute positively to its continued growth and impact.
