Hi Everyone,

Some of you may be aware, there will be an ICANN Regional
Registry-Registrar Gathering in Hong Kong: July 26-27, 2007.  These
types of regional gathering is intended to be informal sessions that
provide opportunity for better communication between registries and
registrars.

Since the AP meeting original scheduled for October 07 is now delayed to
Feb 08, I was thinking it may be a good idea to convene in the interim
to set out some of the things to do now that we have formally formed the
APRALO.  I have chatted with Raj, Cheryl and a few others briefly about
this a couple of days ago as well and all thought it may be a good idea
to find a chance to meet face to face.  One of the areas of discussion
(among others, e.g. IDN, new gTLDs, etc.) may be to take the opportunity
to meet the registries and registrars informally to understand more
about the domain tasting issues.

I would like to suggest having an APRALO gathering on July 25 2007 here
in Hong Kong.  ISOC HK is happy to help arrange the logistics and to
host the meeting here.

Nick mentioned however that funding from ICANN for travel maybe tight
(but not impossible if only for a very limited number...).  I would like
to see how the schedules for others look like for July 25, and whether
there is interest to meet.
