Dear APRALO colleagues and especially to our region's ATLAS III Ambassadors,

During the past December Monthly Call, a brief presentation was made in respect of a proposed APRALO Policy Platform 2020. If you missed the call and want to listen to the recording, the agenda wiki and call recording are available (call recording starting from 21:10 (minute:second))

As mentioned before, the proposed APRALO Policy Platform 2020 is designed to:

1. Facilitate informed, inclusive regional position development on issues/policies within ICANN's remit;
2. Act as the regional partner to the ALAC Policy Platform; and
3. Help coordinate the region's contributions toward various At-Large goals, including on ICANN policy, Outreach & Engagement, At-Large Review Implementation as well as ATLAS III.

We are still at discussion stage and welcome further feedback, suggestions not only on the strategy but also the list of topics to pursue and corresponding mechanics, metrics etc. - please comment on the linked Googledoc

The Leadership Team would also like to encourage you to think about where and how you can volunteer to make this proposed initiative a success -- whether as a leader, participant and/or liaison.

In particular, we are hoping more of our region's ATLAS III Ambassadors will actively participate, not only providing with comments but to also consider volunteering for leadership roles hereon.

On that note, we wish you a happy and safe festive season ahead of the 2020 New Year.

Kind regards,

Justine Chew

Have you been wanting to get involved in the policy side of At-Large's work but don't know where to start?  Well, here is something you should look at.

The proposed APRALO Policy Platform 2020 (found at this Googledoc link) is being designed to on-board more participants from our region in policy-related activities.

Please take the time to give your feedback to the APRALO Leadership Team on this proposal by adding your comments or questions to
the Googledoc

There will also be a short presentation during the next APRALO Monthly Call scheduled for 19 December at 06:00 UTC where we will answer any questions you may have on this proposal.

Finer details to the proposal will be worked on, taking into account your relevant comments and inputs.

Dear colleagues,

The APRALO Leadership Team invites you to review and comment on the
 proposed APRALO Policy Platform 2020 found at this Googledoc link.

Following the presentation of the ALAC Policy Platform by ALAC Vice-Chairs Joanna Kulesza and Jonathan Zuck in an earlier APRALO Monthly Call of October 2019, and the successful conclusion of ATLAS III in November 2019, we believe it is timely for the region to consider an initiative which seeks to strategically address a number of overlapping goals for the region and the wider At-Large Community.

With this in mind, the proposed APRALO Policy Platform 2020 is designed to:

1. Facilitate informed, inclusive regional position development on issues/policies within ICANN's remit;
2. Act as the regional partner to the ALAC Policy Platform; and
3. Help coordinate the region's contributions toward various At-Large goals, including on ICANN policy, Outreach & Engagement, At-Large Review Implementation as well as ATLAS III.

There will be a short presentation during the next APRALO Monthly Call scheduled for 19 December at 06:00 UTC where we will answer any questions you may have on this proposal.

In the mean time we thought it would be useful to draw your attention to the proposal ahead of the Monthly Call so that you may consider the same at your convenience.  Please add your comments to the Googledoc.
