The
ICANN
Global Public Interest Framework (GPIF) [icann-community.atlassian.net]
is a set of guidelines developed to help the ICANN community understand how ICANN Board decisions relate to the global public interest. It was designed to facilitate a bottom-up, multistakeholder approach to identifying the public interest in
decisions, but not to change how those decisions are made. The framework underwent a pilot program - completed in October 2023 - and now offers a toolkit -
the
GPIF Checklist [docs.google.com] - for community groups to use voluntarily (see:
