How to participate in the monthly APRALO conference calls
Dear All, The APRALO Secretariat has requested us to send you an email to address some of the uncertainties regarding the use of our teleconference service. This email will try to make it easier for you to participate in the monthly APRALO conference calls. It is generally preferred to use a fixed line to a mobile or Skype connection for conference calls as this guarantees the highest sound quality. Also, when not speaking, please mute yourself using *6 (star key + 6 key) to minimize noise interferences during the call. In order to speak, you can un-mute yourself using *7. The easiest way to connect to the bridge is to use your local toll free number followed by the conference ID 1638 and the #-key. You can find a list of international toll-free numbers under: https://st.icann.org/alac-docs/index.cgi?how_can_i_participate_in_this_meeti... Please note that some mobile phone providers block access toll free numbers on their networks. In that case, and in case no toll-free number is available in your country, you will need to request a dial-out to your phone. You can do so either by writing an email to staff@atlarge.icann.org at least 48 hours before the start of the call or by requesting an automated dial-out under http://go.adigo.com/go/outlink.php?sid=7298. Automated dial-out requests are only possible once a call has started. Also, please note that country codes must be preceded by 011 instead of 00. For example, if you request an automated call to a Vietnamese phone number, the number you provide in the online form needs to start with 01184 (instead of 0084). We generally advise you to send us an email instead, however, as manual dial-outs have proved to be more reliable. You can find more detailed participation instructions linked to the APRALO meeting pages. You can also read them directly under: https://st.icann.org/alac-docs/index.cgi?how_can_i_participate_in_this_meeti... Dear all, Thanks to those of you who raised concern at the email below. It appears as this was an isolated miss communication. As agreed to and voted on in Mexico, APRALO "do not" have a preference for phone for conference calls. As agreed to in Mexico and last months APRALO meeting we will trial Skype and Adobe chat and decide on a preference based on our collective experiences and it may well be that the phone is the preference at this time. At this months meeting we will organise a time to trial group conference on Skype and to get details on Adobe Connect.
