APRALO wiki page functionality
Hello, APRALO members, In response to our inquiry, we have received the below information from IT regarding options for new functionality for the APRALO main wiki page. Charles has asked me to circulate this information for your review before the next APRALO meeting. It will be on that meeting's agenda. Specifically, it's wondering if it can have either of the following two functions: 1) Information that is automatically updated. For example, would it be possible, whenever staff updates the announcements on the main ALAC wiki page, could it automatically appear on the APRALO main page? Main ALAC wiki page: https://community.icann.org/display/atlarge/At-Large+Advisory+Committee+%28A... APRALO main page: https://community.icann.org/display/APRALO/Asian%2C+Australasian+and+Pacific... """ There are several announcement sections on the main ALAC wiki page that page. Some are created on that page, others are sourced from external RSS feeds. The 'At-Large Announcements' are built dynamically from an rss feed from the At Large website: http://www.atlarge.icann.org/atlarge/announcements/en/feed We could have this RSS feed on multiple wiki pages without any problems. The 'At-Large Staff Announcements' are built by hand and there is no way to synchronize this to another wiki page. If you need the locally built announcements on multiple pages my recommendation would be to move them to the At Large website where an rss feed can be generated. """ 2) RSS feeds set up that APRALO can send to different users to keep them posted. """ The RSS feed generation for confluence is pretty easy. Ken Bour documented it well at the following link: https://wiki.icann.org/display/policy/2011/04/19/How+To+Create+a+Wiki+RSS+Fe... Let me know if you have any further questions.
