As a means to begin to develop a draft process for the At-Large community to select a Board Director, NARALO held a single issue call on the topic on Monday, 21 September to identify and refine ideas within the region. This NARALO "brainstorm" resulted in some specific proposals and options, with an unexpectedly high level of consensus for the core process.

At the request of ALAC, the refined proposed NARALO process (available: https://st.icann.org/naralo/index.cgi?21_september_2009). It has been posted on the newly created At-Large Director Appointment Process workspace (https://st.icann.org/working-groups/index.cgi?at_large_director_appointment_.... This workspace has been created as a means for the At-Large community to post ideas for consideration in the development of a draft process, share draft procedures, and ask questions regarding legal or other issues related to the At-Large Director Appointment process.

The proposed NARALO process is being distributed to this list in order to encourage wider comments and discussion from the RALO secretariats and their respective ALSes.
